City Clerk- Treasurer Retirement Announcement:
Panama City, City Clerk-Treasurer, Mike Bush, has announced his retirement effective, December 16, 2008. Mike said that it has been a great honor to have served as the City Clerk-Treasurer of his hometown for the past 34 years. He stated that over the years he has had the privilege of working with many outstanding current and former City Commissioners, City Managers, and the City's current City Attorney, Rowlett Bryant, who has served in this position since 1971.
Mike said that due to a consistent history of conservative prudent leadership by the City Commission and City staff, Panama City is well positioned to deal with the current economic challenges caused by a worldwide economic recession. He said that it has been an honor to have had the opportunity to serve with a staff of public employees who really care about the citizens of their City. Mike said that as he concludes his career with the City during its centennial year he does so knowing that Panama City has a solid foundation for growth for the next 100 years.
Mike Bush is a true representative of the City's motto "Dedicated to Excellence... People Serving People". His guidance and leadership will be missed by everyone here at the City.
